Our Process

Though trial and error netmanos has established a truly refined process of realizing a web project from inception to completion. Each step introduces a simple task with its own requirements, deliverable, and timeline, thus enabling the Client to have a clear overall vision throughout the life of the project.

  • Project Scope: netmanos initiates each assignment with a strategic, detailed review of the client's objectives for the project. Once all available information is collected from the client a requirements definition document is constructed. In this document project objectives and constraints are explained in detail thus creating a unified model of reference for future development. Dynamic applications such as content manager, e-marketing tool, timesheet applications, etc. are broken down explicitly.
  • Information Architecture: Having collected all the applicable content and functionality, netmanos builds a Site Map. A site map is a visual representation of the site hierarchy. Page functionality and hyperlinks are clearly defined and the structure of the site is exposed.
  • Usability Engineering: Once the site hierarchy is established we proceed in the study of the structure of each distinct page. This involves generating wire-frames for individual pages, which reflect their content composition and navigation. In this phase the functionality of the project will be studied and usability issues will be resolved.
  • Interface Design: Using the information gathered in the initial design phase, our designers will develop two unique prototypes of the web site. These designs provide the client with representative pages, illustrating navigation and content placement at each level. Changes to the design are continually posted for client review, driving an iterative process of review and modify that culminates with a well-evolved design and client-approved schemes.
  • HTML Authoring: Following final design approval, HTML templates are produced providing the presentation framework for the site’s content. User interfaces for all interactive elements of the site are further developed at this time. Once the templates have been created, content is entered into the database and displayed in a browser. Design and technical refinements are made at a page-by-page level and content is checked for language and layout inaccuracies.
  • Software Development: netmanos employs an object-oriented approach to designing web-based applications. Our engineers are well-versed in the latest design methodology utilizing Unified Modeling Language (UML). netmanos also employs a modular design model, in that software is not released in one big deliverable at the end of the project but is instead developed and released in modules.
  • Usability Testing: During this stage, our Quality Assurance staff reviews the site on a daily basis to assure relevant content and ease of navigation. netmanos will also conduct a round of usability testing. Final user testing will occur during the transition phase. netmanos recommends that we involve an actual end-user or users during the final testing. After the final fixes are in place, and the project requirements have been satisfied, the implementation portion of the final phase will occur.
